Holiday Tree In Kentucky?

Well, it was a holiday tree for a while.  Seems as though the governor in Kentucky has come to his senses.

“For Gov. Beshear, it is a Christmas tree. Period. The end,” Richardson said. “That first request from the Finance Cabinet didn’t reflect that, but the governor speaks for himself. He’s calling it a Christmas tree. That’s what it is.”

What I found interesting in the article is the following:

The Beshear administration, particularly the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet, solicited Kentucky residents last week to consider donating the perfect “holiday tree” to the state.

And who is it that runs this particular cabinet?  Why it’s former mayor Pam Miller’s Harvard-educated son, Jonathan!  What a Grinch!

  1. Gotta love this, I know I do:

Rabbi Marc Kline of Temple Adath Israel in Lexington says the label isn’t an issue.

“Call it what it is. It’s a Christmas tree. It’s a Hanukkah menorah, it’s a Christmas tree, it’s a Kwanzaa candelabra. These things have names, they are what they are, and I celebrate the fact that people celebrate with them, ” Kline said.
