Catch And Release, Then …

Okay, I have a HUGE problem with this catch and release thing when it comes to certain Guantanamo prisoners.  Bush got it started by releasing prisoners to the Saudis, who apparently believed they could rehabilitate the jihadis.  Ironically, an underwear bomb like the one used on the Delta/Northwest flight was used to try to kill the prince in charge of counterterrorism.

Now comes this:  U.S. Probes Links Between Bomb Plot and Guantanamo Detainees. That’s right, the folks we’ve released are back on the battlefield in the skies.  It’s enough to make my blood boil.

But hey, if you’re going to release them to get them out of the court/tribunal system, and then kill them, I’m okay with that.  Not having a trial saves a lot of taxpayer money, and it makes sure that justice really is served and the terrorists can’t do harm.  Only thing I’d change is that the bad guys need to be killed sooner.

Cheney’s probably pissed he didn’t think of this.
